The churches of the main market square of Krakow, Poland. St. Adalbert's in the foreground and St. Mary's in the background. They look out of alignment compared to the square, but both pre-date the square making the square, not the churches, out of alignment.
Tour Day 3: Prague to Krakow
Travel Day

Image of the DayHere we are in Stramberk, Czech Republic for our several hour break on the way to Krakow doing the name game. Now if you've heard of the name game I know what you are thinking. This name game though was like no other. The local kids who were hanging out on the square joined in! You'll notice the 2 young men on either side of Peyton? They were great sports and laughed along with us. It was a fun interaction with the local kids!

Stramberk CastleStramberk is a small town in the Moravian region of the Czech Republic. We took our break there on our way to Krakow over the lunch period. Peter pointed out recommended restaurants and many went and had a nice leisurely lunch. Brett, Deb and I tend to eat a much smaller more picnic type lunch, so don't really stop for that. We three decided to head up to the tower through the picturesque town to what is left of the castle to check it and the view out. We had fun storming the castle! Then we headed back down to the town square to meet our group before moving on.

Lunch Break
After our time in the tower we sat at the base of it, still up top, and enjoyed the views and a light lunch from our bag at the picnic tables provided. There were bathrooms and a food hut with hot or cold food you could buy if you were so inclined. It looked pretty good too, but with the amazing breakfasts we have we really don't need much for lunch. It looked like school groups were using that area for lunch before heading up the tower for a field trip. What amazing options they must have for field trips wherever you live in Europe! So many hikes, parks and historical places to explore! Jodi on the stairs in the tower, Brett and Deb at our picnic spot, Jodi and Brett at a nice viewpoint on the way down into town.

Hotel Polski ~ Krakow, PolandHotel Polski was right along the town walls and in view of Florian's Gate. You could come in that gate, up the street and in the distance see St. Mary's. Arrive at St. Mary's and you arrive at the amazing main market square of Krakow, one of my favorite spaces in Europe and a place I hope to get back to again someday. So needless to say Hotel Polski is in a great location. Our rooms were fabulous and the breakfast room was huge with an amazing spread! We really enjoyed our time here.

Pro-Tip: This is a great city to be up early and stay out late in, especially with how close our hotel was located to the Main Market Square. If you would like to be alone with the beauty, then early morning is a must.
Krakow 1st NightAfter arriving in Krakow and getting our room assignments we refreshed ourselves before meeting back up to head to a group dinner. It was a lovely walk down Florianska St. with St. Mary's and the main market square at the end. The square is one of my favorite spaces in Europe, this was my 3rd visit and I hope I get to visit again someday! We then headed down a different side street from the square to our restaurant where we had a great meal. After dinner Deb, Brett and I went on an evening walk. It was a beautiful night!
